Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using The Same Page.
Effective August 25, 2026 · Last updated October 22, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using The Same Page (the “Service”), operated by The Same Page (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and accessible at app.thesamepage.xyz. By creating an account or using the Service, on your own behalf or on behalf of your organization, you agree to these Terms.
The short version: use it for real team management, review AI drafts before they touch a real decision, and the data you put in stays yours.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use The Same Page. If you create an account for your organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Your Account
You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure, including the email account your sign-in links are sent to, and for all activity under your account.
Free Periods and Fees
We may offer the Service free for a limited period, such as a trial or a launch offer. When a free period ends, your account becomes read-only until you subscribe: you can still view, export, and delete your data, but not add to it. Paid plans are billed in advance at the price shown when you subscribe. We will give you notice before any price change takes effect, and you can cancel at any time. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use The Same Page for lawful, legitimate team-management purposes. You agree not to:
- Store or process information about other people without the right to do so under your organization’s policies and applicable law
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another organization’s data or to our systems
- Upload material that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to share
- Use the Service in any manner that violates applicable law
AI Features and No Professional Advice
The Same Page uses AI to draft content, including prep sheets, meeting wrap-ups, assessment drafts, and suggestions drawn from your notes and files.
AI output is not professional advice. Nothing in the Service is HR, legal, or employment advice. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong for your situation, and it is always presented as a draft for a person to review. You are solely responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it in any real personnel decision, such as a review, a rating, a promotion, or any other employment action.
Your Data
You and your organization keep full ownership of the data entered into The Same Page, including goals, projects, notes, files, and assessments. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data only to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train AI models.
You can export your data at any time from Settings.
Service Availability
We provide the Service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may perform maintenance or apply updates without prior notice. We do not currently maintain backups from which deleted data can be restored, so please export anything you want to keep a separate copy of.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes, and if we discontinue the Service entirely we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data first.
Intellectual Property
The Same Page platform, including its interface, branding, and underlying technology, is our intellectual property. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you except the limited right to use the Service as described here. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Same Page and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $10 if you have not paid us anything.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Same Page and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of anyone else’s rights, including claims about information you stored about other people.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
When your account ends, your right to use the Service ends with it, and your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will communicate material changes by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maine.
